Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) is a privately-owned Swiss-Italian international shipping line. Over the years, MSC has diversified its business from ocean shipping and logistics to include overland transportation and growing portfolio of port terminal investments.
In 2015, MSC, in conjunction with Maersk SeaLand, launched the 2M Alliance, which is a vessel-sharing agreement on the Asia-Europe, trans-Pacific and trans-Atlantic trade lanes.
In late 2021, MSC overtook fellow 2M Alliance member, Maersk, as the largest container shipping line, carrying a total of 23M TEU annually.
